Established in 2022, Melissa Gray Design is an interior design firm with a strong aesthetic for timeless, restrained, beautiful spaces which are a response to the architecture they reside within.

Melissa is an interior designer who has worked in London and New Zealand on a portfolio of projects from residential new builds and renovations, retail offerings, hospitality, hotels, healthcare, education, workplace and civic scale projects- namely Te Pae, Christchurch Convention Center while working as a Senior Interior Designer for Warren and Mahoney Architects.

Melissa has a First Class Honors degree in Interior Architecture with a Bachelor of Design from Victoria University of Wellington and has won awards in both design and art throughout her creative career. It is through her art where she explores the idea that the natural inherent quality of materials are ever evolving and always changing, a process that intertwines with her interior design thought process.

Approaching each design project through understanding the client brief, learning about the clients’ expectations and developing a design response that links the daily spatial sequencing seamlessly with functionality, creating beautiful interior architecture with quality materiality designed to age with use over time. It is ultimately about human experience - how clients use their spaces, and the way people engage and connect.
